I will provide more details in a separate email. Sending this out to save the date and let me know as soon as possible if you’ll be able to make it. \nApologies for the very fast turnaround\, but this has taken a fair amount of coordination (Thanks Eddy!). Also note\, we don’t have a certain cost per person\, yet\, because it depends on how many we get. The more that sign up\, the less it will cost. Your RSVP and return of the Release of Liability (Attached) by April 30th is critical for planning by us and the Astronomy Campus. \nPrepare yourselves for a wonderful time. Troop 33 and Troop 1 have previously enjoyed this experience together and it was a hit with everyone. We will be staying in a bunkhouse with plenty of bunkbeds for the dads and cadets\, so much of your camp equipment can be left behind – YAY! \nOf note…Two days prior to the Astronomy Camp\, CSAC will send more definitive information about our bunkhouse and event schedule which I will immediately forward to everyone. \nYou do not want to miss this amazing event of solar viewing and star/planetary/nebula gazing through telescopes the likes of which most people have never experienced. \nIf you have any issues with the attachment or questions\, please feel free to reach out. \nLook forward to seeing everyone. \n  \n(UPDATE to the May TSG STAR GAZING Event): \nPlease read below a description and see the attachments. I’m needing your RSVP and Return your forms by 05/24/24! Again… apologies for the quick turnaround\, but this has taken a fair amount of coordination. Also note\, we don’t have a certain cost per person\, yet\, because it depends on how many we get. The more that sign up\, the less it will cost. \n—————————————————————————————————————– \nHello Troop 1\, \nI hope this email finds everyone abundantly blessed. Prepare yourselves for a wonderful time. It was a hit with everyone in the past. We will be staying in a bunkhouse with plenty of bunkbeds for the dads and cadets\, so much of your camp equipment can be left behind – YAY! There are two attached documents: 050424 Astronomy Camp has all the information you need to prepare. The Release of Liability document must be filled out by each father and emailed back to me. Your RSVP and return of the Release of Liability by May 24 is critical for planning and the Astronomy Campus. Two days prior to the Astronomy Camp\, CSAC will send me more definitive information about our bunkhouse and event schedule which I will immediately forward to everyone. You do not want to miss this amazing event of solar viewing and star/planetary/nebula gazing through telescopes the likes of which most people have never experienced. If you have any issues with the attachments or questions\, please feel free to contact myself or Eddy Koch at 972-922-1485 or eddykochssg@gmail.com.This camp will prove to be an awesome experience. This is a long email so please grab a coffee or other libation and go thru it all. I have also copied an email from the administrator of the observatory at the bottom (important info as well). \nPlease arrive by 6pm if possible (this is a dark site and people will be star gazing after dark). Be sure to eat or bring dinner on the way. There is Friday night Casual Star Gazing from 9-11pm. \nPlease be aware that you will not need your tents and such – We have secured a heated/cooled bunkhouse with enough bunkbeds for all. Registration fee will be slightly more due to the added expense of the luxury suites 🙂 ! You will need a sleeping bag/blanket\, pillow and preferably a bed sheet for the mattress. If you have twin XL sheets you can bring them and a blanket as well. Even a regular flat or fitted queen sheet will do. Bring your mess kit and red lights if you have one (NO WHITE LIGHTS ALLOWED). \nSee the attached camp document for additional details\, schedule and suggestions on what to bring. \n————————————————- \nEddy\, \nThank you for booking an overnight stay at Comanche Springs Astronomy Campus.  To ensure your stay with us is safe and enjoyable\, we have compiled some information that we feel is important. \nPlease pack accordingly for our conditions – closed toed shoes\, hats\, and layered clothing are recommended.  Items not permitted on campus – brandished firearms\, pets\, and open fires with wood or charcoal\, please plan to cook on electric or gas appliances. \nThe physical address to the campus is: 4187 FM 654\, Crowell.  Most GPS/Mapping programs will get you to FM 654.  From there\, follow FM 654 for 4.4 miles.  Once you cross the second cattle guard\, our driveway will be on your left.  \nWe ask that you plan your arrival during daylight hours\, if possible.  Please confirm anticipated arrival time. \nAttached you will find a map of our facilities.  Driveways are marked in yellow.  Please only travel on marked roadways and park only in marked parking areas. \nYou will be staying in Bunkhouse “?”\, marked on the map with a light blue “?”.  You are responsible for bringing all necessary linens and pillows for the bunkbeds.  They are Twin XL size.  Parking for your bunkhouses will be in the areas flanking the bunkhouses on the map labeled “Bunkhouse Parking” and “Bunkhouse/Cabin Parking”. When you arrive\, the air will be on in the bunkhouse.  Please feel free to adjust the temperature to your preference using the up and down arrows on the thermostat by the door.  A red porch light is available by switch near the door.  Please turn the air back to 78 upon departure and leave the $300.00 rental fee (cash or check preferred) on the table front bar.  You may also pay by credit card over the phone\, but there is a 3% convenience fee.  We ask that you depart by noon on Sunday. \nEddy \nLINKS: \n05.03.24 Astronomy Camp \nRelease of Liability \n Accomodation Rules \n Schedule
